New Zealand_22 Feb
Today was a good day; warm & scenic. It was hot by 9 AM. By 10 I was all lubed up and had the shirt off from then on. A few 300 m hills today (from sea level that's a lot). The highest one was a dirt road through a canyon that looked like a jungle and had some beautiful houses. All the houses out here are nicer than in the cities. I swam again today, it was great. The motor camp was a little further out of town than I imagined. It's at the end of a road & dominates a bay - "Long Bay". I'm too lazy to write but the hills were great. The ferry was great ($1 for about 100') and I had two ice creams today. They (the ice creams) weren't both great. 'Fruit salad' sucks. [The English language is 'great' too, obviously it doesn't have too many adjectives for Martin...] Training Diary Comments: Hot. 7 hrs. Felt pretty good today. I didn't kick in until the first climb - they force you to warm up. I'm still lackluster on the flats. Stomach is OK today. |
