New Zealand_23 Feb

Route: Coromandel - Thames Distance Traveled: 60 km

What a great stretch of road! [The next time I go on a tour and keep a journal, I need to remind myself to use at least TWO adjectives. 'Great' just isn't cutting it anymore...] From Coromandel down to Thames is fantastic. It's all up & down these big hills or it's back and forth along the ocean. So why am I sick of this? It's just not as EXCITING anymore. I don't know what to do. I feel like I've been pushing ever since I've been on the north island. I was sick for a little while but now I'm fine, I'm eating GREAT food (fruit, veggies, pasta, fresh fish) but still drive. I enjoy passing out on couches and reading, I'm still tearing through books now, but that's all.

[ASIDE - I am not able to illuminate my mood on this day any more looking back at my words. I think I was just feeling the cumulative effects of riding almost every day, riding pretty damn FAR every day and being alone.]

Training Diary Comments: Great. [weather] 3 hrs. I still feel listless, stomach OK.
