Route: Lumsden - Invercargill Distance Traveled: 81 km

rode from Lumsden to Invercargill. Down here it is flat and WINDY! Nothing in Invercargill is more than two stories tall, there is so much space for the town and they [seem to have] used it all. There are so many shops here; it's not a small city. All the stores have awnings so the sidewalks are almost completely covered. It reminds me of alleys filled with shops.

Riding down I'd only been on the bike for 30 minutes when it started to rain. I pulled over and had to wait in some trees for it to clear. I had to pull over again later and a nice couple gave me some morning tea (tea & buns). I made it to the rest of the way with just a lunch stop and although the rain let up, the wind just got worse. It's howling right now (7 PM).

Training Diary Comments: Wind & rain. Got stuck in [the] rain a few times but it was fairly warm.
