[Today I flew from NZ to Fiji]
Leaving NZ was no problem. The airport was just about empty. On the plane, I asked for a beer before dinner and I received two. With dinner I again asked for a beer and again receive two. Maybe that's why I forgot to exchange money at the airport.
I didn't really have a plan when I got off the plane and that's bad here. I was immediately assaulted by Indian taxi drivers and cajoled into a $40 ride to the Hideaway resort. On the way the taxi driver bought two bottles of Fiji Bitter beer to share with me on the drive. He also stopped to get gas and to piss by the roadside. I saw someone passed out on the highway. When we got to the Hideaway it was full so it was down the road to another place which at 11:30 PM was only staffed by natives who didn't speak English and couldn't book me in. They said I could pay in the morning. I got in the dorm to find two women who are headed to NZ. We talked 'till 1:00 AM. I feel lost and scared. Not assertive.
