Comments: I don't recall ever staying away on the flats before but we did tonight. The pace was SLOW at the start and it looked like no one was willing to work/I could not see any big names there except for Kerry Ferrell (who won last week) so after a couple of laps I made sure he was well behind me and jumped out of turn 2. They let me go! I got a big gap right away and decided to just go and hopefully I would either win the first prime or someone would come up to me. There was a slight wind and I was in the 13 on the back stretch and in the 14/15 on the home stretch. No one ended up joining me and I stayed away for 2.5 laps and got the first prime after which it came together again.

Seeing as I needed a bit to recover, I was happy to draft a while and sit on. A few laps later someone went again, I joined them and this time so did Kerry and a few others. This time we were gone for good. Just about all the strong riders were in the break so I knew it would stick. Will from Jet City Velo made it in there too so we had two from our team. Nice!

I kept waiting for the second prime but it did not come until just before the finish. I tried to lead out Will but he was like 4th over the line. I felt like my leadout was pretty strong so even though they held up the 2 lap sign as we crossed the line for the prime, I figured the finish would be good for us. This time I started the leadout a little later, went REALLY hard and I got 4th and I think Will got 3rd. We were all lined up as we crossed the finish line and it was SO close. Although I did not win this really boosted my confidence for fast finishes and I know I can hold it and not die at the end now. Breaks are fun...!
Equipment: Hyak - don't know if it was my sucky tires or not but as long as it was wet, I almost slid out on turn 3 every time...
