Comments: Man, what a great day!

We were here to scout a route for a mountain bike tour that we're leading in a week and i was psyched to see that bikes are specifically allowed on the Annette Lake trail up to the railway grade.

50 feet up the trail when we had to get off (and hike-a-bike the next mile!) that enthusiasm quickly abated. :)

But the forest was SO beautiful. It almost compensated for how dumb I felt walking our tandem bicycle up this trail. Kidding.

Once up on the John Wayne Trail Shelley and I rode down to the next intersection, took the gravel road down to I-90 and then rode up the freeway to the next exit (Tinkham Road) and took Tinkham Road back to the parking lot.

There are a TON of camping spots on this road!  And for the most part they are all really nice.  None of them seem to be official spots so you don't have to pay so if you can get here early enough it would be a score.  you are close to the freeway but not so close that it's bad and many of the spots are next to a creek. Nice.
